Frequently Asked Questions are answered here for your convenience.
Why purchase a gift certificate?
There are a whole host of reasons why patrons take trips on our gondolas: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, engagements, entertaining or showing appreciation to business clients, touring the city of Providence, or simply taking an opportunity to relax. You may personalize a gift certificate for any occasion you wish. How do I purchase my gift certificate? It's pretty easy - just click on the link, fill in your information in the prompts, pay by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover) on our secure payment site, and you will receive an immediate email confirmation of your transaction.
How does the person receive the gift certificate?
Within seven (7) days the gift certificate will be mailed via the United States Postal Service to the specified recipient (either yourself or the person for whom you purchased the gift certificate). Please purchase your gift certificate(s) early in order to ensure timely delivery!
How much should I spend on my gift certificate?
Well, each package has a specified price - you may choose the gift certificate to coincide with what you would like for your loved ones - see package details [ click here ] for information about each of our packages.
What about gratuity?
We pride ourselves on the service that our gondoliers provide to our guests. They are not simply the "motor" that drives the gondola, they are also solo performers, tour guides, and ambassadors of the City of Providence and the State of Rhode Island. If you wish to add a gratuity for them to your gift certificate, that would be greatly appreciated.
How does one use a gift certificate?
Once your loved ones have the gift certificate in their possession, they simply have to call the office (401.421.8877) after the office opens again in April in order to make a reservation. Gift certificates are redeemable on any day of our season, subject to the limitations placed on certain packages, and are valid at purchase value indefinitely. Package prices, however, are subject to seasonal increase, and if gift certificates are not redeemed the first season for which they are purchased, a balance may have to be paid to cover the difference if there has been a price adjustment.
