If your dream wedding involves the complete Venetian experience, why not exchange your vows on an authentic Venetian gondola? Our beautifully-restored Italian wedding gondola is the perfect size to accommodate the bride & groom, maid of honor & best man, photographer, and your gondoliers. Employing our other two authentic gondolas, we can accommodate up to 12 additional guests.
Outside of Crawford Street, at the head of Providence's picturesque Riverwalk, we can bring all three boats together as the ceremony commences. Additional guests can enjoy the ceremony from the Crawford Street Bridge. (Alternately, we can perform the ceremony in the amphitheater adjacent to our dock.) We can work with your caterer, florist, photographer, videographer, and wedding planner to coordinate decor, and create the perfect atmosphere for your heartfelt vows.
Our Reverend Matthew "Marcello" Haynes, company President and chief gondolier, is licensed to perform marriages in all 50 states. He can work with you to create a service that resonates with you and incorporates any interdenominational elements that you wish to include. You may also make your own arrangements for a celebrant; all faiths and denominations are welcome.

Please note that there may be limited availability on WaterFire dates, and that reserving the gondolas during WaterFire will necessitate additional charges.
Rates for gondola wedding ceremonies start at $569 for one gondola. This includes 40 minutes for your ceremony, and up to 40 minutes of photography time following. Additional gondolas for guests may be added for $299/boat. Prices include all taxes, fees, and gratuities.

If you are having your wedding reception in Providence, or perhaps have a few hours between the ceremony and the reception, gondola trips are a terrific way for your guests to enjoy a unique experience of our city. We can operate out of either (or both) of our two docks - at Citizens Plaza and in Waterplace Park. If your reception is not in the Downcity area, we are happy to work with a caterer to provide hors d'oeuvres and/or other refreshments to your guests. We can also offer live musical entertainment by one of our talented musicians. Large parties are group discounted, and can include wedding photos with the bride and groom.

In our first season, La Gondola was chosen by Rhode Island Monthly as the "Best Place To Pop the Question," and we have been a popular venue for proposals ever since. We are honored and proud to share in these special moments with each and every couple who becomes engaged on our gondolas.

Of course, any trip is a perfect atmosphere in which to ask your beloved to marry you - but we can also modify trip packages in a number of ways to make your big moment even more special.

Whether as a setting for engagement photos, or as a place to celebrate your wedding vows, our gondolas provide a stunning platform from which to capture the moment. In fact, over the winter of 2010-11 we renovated a wedding gondola that had been brought from Venice to America over 30 years ago. While rescuing this boat and restoring it to its original splendor, we found that the intricacies of its construction make it even more spectacular than we had originally thought! It is adorned on its bow and stern with beautiful carvings of mythical figures, complimented by the classic silver trim and mahogany floorboards and side panels in the lounge.
Furthermore, we can work with your wedding planner, photographer, and florist in order to decorate the gondola in keeping with the theme of your wedding. Also, during your session, your talented gondolier can maneuver the boat into nearly any path specified by your photographer or videographer, so that your trip can be captured in full splendor. We are happy to share our experience with regard to the angles and locations that seem to create the most beautiful photos.

Wedding/engagement photo sessions begin at $149 for a 40-minute session; this includes the cost of the time slot, gratuity for the gondolier, all taxes and fees, and the extra insurance we carry for your photographers' equipment. Additional fees may be incurred if extra time is required to set up floral arrangements, lighting, or other details.
